Stitch Fix…. Your 20 dollar Stylist

I’m excited to tell you about a new online clothes shopping company I heard about from one of my favorite bloggers, hollywoodhousewife.com.
StitchFix.com will send you 5 pieces of clothing (your fix) after a stylist reviews your profile which is based on a 10 minute questionnaire you answer. This will help your stylist choose pieces for you based on your size, style and budget. You buy what you want and return the rest.
You pick your date you receive your fix and you can automatically schedule new fixes. (I signed up for monthly fixes.) The styling fee is 20 dollars that is credited to anything you purchase. My fix arrived in a pretty box with two tops, a pair of cargo pants, a dress, a tunic, and earrings.
I loved opening my package to see what some mysterious stylist thought I should wear. It was little like Christmas. I must say I don’t think I would have ever tried any of these clothes on in the store. Here are photos of moi expertly taken by my 10-year-old daughter.

The package included a picture of my items with suggestions on how to wear each piece. I decided to keep only the tunic/mini dress. Check out is super easy on-line where you can give feedback to your stylist. I explained the pants were a little too low waisted, the orange top too big in the armpit and the dress made me feel like Frumpalina ready to set sail. My toni retiled for 44 dollars but I got it for 24 after my discount. The rejects went in a self addressed and stamped bag that I dropped off at the post office.
My next fix is on its way! It was fun and I like trying clothes on in my own house. The other thing I discovered is that having a photo taken of you in a new outfit is super instructive. You get a better picture of how you look than just standing in front of the mirror.

  1. That was the one I liked too, pants and blouse were cute but guess did fit rite, the sailor dress can go overseas.
    Good pictures Ava!

  2. I loved the tunic on you! Very cute and you look great. What a cool concept. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Great idea! I need to get rid of a ton of clothes before I bring any more into the house, but I’ll definitely keep this in mind! Thanks for sharing!
